A Friend of Mine

There’s a little lovely light
That shines out there
Closing those bright eyes
As it struggles for air

It’s glowing silently
Out with the trees
Following voices
That say as they please

Those flies circle round
Smelling their feed
Knives out and ready
To consume a friend in need

Let them sing to you
Each kiss draws some blood
Smiles are their anchors
To hook you down in the mud

They can't help but entertain
And you get infatuated
That you’d be a little more brilliant
If you’re lovely light now faded

There is no company
For we’ve both lost our way
So back to the muck
The flies have won the day

The moon’s now high
We’re all alone in the dark
And our lovely little light
Just turned to a lifeless spark

Sports anolgies, yes!

Thanks!

It's odd that you mention "moment" because the moment I was writing this the person who it is about was about 2 meters away and, unbeknownst to me, watching me as I wrote. I am not too sure how I feel about that, but it is interesting... mildly.
