A Love Poem
When I look at you
There is no need for the next letter
To see every sorry love poem
Instantly done one better
What use is this rhyem scheme,
This meter, this flow?
When compared to us together
Breathing where no words dare go
The Rythem we sing
Even these words can't see
As we show these paltry love poems
What they are aching to be
No, these words can't reach you
Having flown too far away
Not turning back to see me
As you slowly walked away
There is no need for the next letter
To see every sorry love poem
Instantly done one better
What use is this rhyem scheme,
This meter, this flow?
When compared to us together
Breathing where no words dare go
The Rythem we sing
Even these words can't see
As we show these paltry love poems
What they are aching to be
No, these words can't reach you
Having flown too far away
Not turning back to see me
As you slowly walked away

I was thinking of replacing the last line with:
"As you slowly left today"
To highlight the "nowness" of the emotion and because I have rhyemd "away" with "away"
What do you think?
