Cosmonaut Returns
The middle of the night
The center of the skies
One light
For my eyes
Blood pushes through
Rushing towards you
Floating
Dancing
Spinning
Drowning
Within you
…Weightless
Crashing
Ripping
Burning
Drowning
Without you
… Breathless
The middle of the night
The center of the skies
Always in sight
Chained to my eyes
Never to be
Weightless or free
From distance
Or Gravity.
The center of the skies
One light
For my eyes
Blood pushes through
Rushing towards you
Floating
Dancing
Spinning
Drowning
Within you
…Weightless
Crashing
Ripping
Burning
Drowning

Chained to my eyes
Never to be
Weightless or free
From distance
Or Gravity.

This was fantastic. Loved it. Great use of alternate metering, and really strong imagery.
Deserves a few re-reads, I think.
..the protagonist seems to have a kind of resigned, yet not undesirable subservience to the muse, who seems to be the absolute centre, or the primary guiding light in this world - I'm not sure which.
This is great.
Much better than shitty I Mother Earth songs. Fantastic. Adventurous, breathless, exceptional.
You've made an elusive feeling very tangible.
