When the frame is creaking
When the field is fallow
When the tin is empty
With nothing left to borrow
Walk ‘round the corner
Trace ‘round the bend
To the store that’s selling
Tomorrow’s never end
When the pill is taken
With gasp and sigh
Life’s lease re-written
With a new way to die
When the field is fallow
When the tin is empty
With nothing left to borrow
Walk ‘round the corner
Trace ‘round the bend
To the store that’s selling
Tomorrow’s never end
When the pill is taken
With gasp and sigh
Life’s lease re-written
With a new way to die

i love the 'life's lease re-written' part. how many new ways to die are there now? the list continues to grow.
i've missed your poetry.
love this, it's so sharp. wish i could write with that kind of brevity.
I owe brevity to laziness!
Thanks!
